P2 car park changes

Works have now commenced on construction of the new $50 million multi-storey car park. A range of changes have been implemented to support these works, including the reconfiguration of traffic flow within the multi-storey section of the P2 car park, closure of the on-grade parking area and changed pedestrian routes. Learn more about the scope of these works.

Wednesday 27 January to Saturday 13 February

Works to construct a new reception desk will take place opposite the current main entrance reception desk at Entrance B, with intermittent noise and vibration impacts. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout construction.

Wednesday 27 January to Friday 19 February

Fire services works adjacent to Emergency will require road excavation. All works will be managed by traffic control with dust and noise procedures in place to reduce impacts to vehicles, pedestrians and users of the hospital. Works will take place day and night. Please prepare for minor delays if travelling through this area.

Friday 29 January to Saturday 13 February

Works to construct a new reception desk within the hoarded area adjacent to lift D in the main concourse may result in intermittent noise and vibration impacts. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Until Saturday 6 February

A range of minor defect rectification works in the road and footpath reserve along Burnside Drive and Elizabeth Street will be undertaken during the day and night. Traffic control will be in place where works are on the road.

Until Saturday 27 February

In preparation for main works construction, the installation of construction hoarding within the basement, Thomas and Rachel Moore Education Centre, and Caroline Chisolm building will see a range of works taking place 24 hours a day. Pedestrian access will be maintained and there will be some noise and vibration impacts.

Works within the P1 car park will require closure of the P1 entry ramp off Elizabeth Street between 8pm and 6am, seven days a week. Diversions will be in place to direct vehicles to the P2 car park via Campbell Street and Burnside Drive. P3 car park access via Burnside Drive is also available.

The installation of temporary fencing and hoarding around construction zones in the hospital's P1 and P3 car parks will result in a reduction of available car parking spaces. Visitors using these areas may also experience dust, noise and vibration as a result of service relocation works, construction materials handling and related ongoing works. Learn more about the scope of these works.

Construction within the basement level of the new and old clinical services buildings will see regular drilling works conducted between the hours of 6am to 10am, Monday to Saturday, and intermittently between 6pm and 10pm, resulting in high-level noise and vibration.

Services on the move...

Engineering Services has now moved to a new space on the Elizabeth Street side of the P1 car park to enable the P1 and P3 car parks to be connected. Public access to the new basement level office is via lifts 12 and 13 on the ground floor of the Caroline Chisholm building, or via B lifts 14 and 15 on the main hospital concourse.

Most services within the existing education centre have now relocated to the newly constructed Liverpool Education and Research Centre on eastern campus. Access is via the pedestrian bridge connection to eastern campus (located at the eastern end of the new clinical services building, adjacent to Lift D). Learn more.

Note: The Ken Merten Library and Medical Staff Council have relocated to the ground floor of the Don Everett building.
